Jenna Cacciola (she/her/hers)
Hi, I’m Jenna! I am a licensed psychologist in Indiana with a focus on assessment.
Letters Behind My Name: Psy.D., HSPP
Education: I graduated from the University of Indianapolis in August 2014 with a Doctoral Degree (Doctorate in Psychology; PsyD) in clinical psychology.
Background/training: I completed my doctoral internship at the Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie, Indiana, and my post-doctoral training at Shelby Psychological Services in Shelbyville, Indiana.
I have worked in residential, therapeutic day school, and community-based settings. Within these settings, I have worked with school systems, Juvenile Probation Departments, and the Department of Child Services to coordinate care and treatment for children, adolescents, and their families, as well as adults.
Since graduating in August 2014, I have focused on providing comprehensive psychological evaluation services in Indiana within community-based and residential settings for children, adolescents, and adults.
Passion & Focus: I love assessment and evaluations!
I am humbled by the opportunity to hold space with individuals, connect with them, recognize and understand their strengths, interests, talents, gifts, and needs, and to support them in identifying ways to overcome current barriers, obstacles, or roadblocks to (re)claiming their narratives and leading authentic lives so they can thrive. I hope that individuals deepen their self-compassion and feel more confident letting others know what they need from them, more comfortable in expressing how they think and feel, and more connected to their life’s purpose.
My Values
I strive to operate from a stance of inclusion and honor the dignity, identities, and self-determination of the people with whom I have the great joy and privilege to work. This stance includes:
Anti-racism
Anti-bigotry
Anti-ableism
Anti-oppression
LGBTQIA2S+ affirmation
Neurodiversity affirming
Body positivity and acceptance
Being trauma-informed
My Commitment
I am committed to continually examining the ways that white supremacy culture, racism, capitalism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, diet culture, and other forms of oppression, bigotry, and discrimination manifest not only in our lived experiences, but how this can impact our wellness journeys and the mental health care system.
I strive to recognize and maintain awareness of my impact while working with folx with different identity locations and bodies of culture to the best of my capacity.
I am committed to life-long learning, training, and growth to address these persistent systems and dynamics.
Land Acknowledgement:
I acknowledge the Indigenous native communities that have stewarded the land and water we rely on through generations. In the area currently known as Indianapolis, IN, these are the Miami, Delaware, Kickapoo, and other Indigenous peoples. It is with gratitude and appreciation I hold space with folx; however, I must also acknowledge the genocide, displacement, and violence which occurred to this land’s original inhabitants. I recognize and honor these ancestral grounds we live and learn upon, and support the resilience and strength of all Indigenous peoples.
Why do I do land acknowledgements? I perceive it as my duty to center perspectives of the communities I impact– both in the places I settle/live and in my clinical work.

I also acknowledge that some Indigenous people say land acknowledgments are often an empty gesture : https://www.cnn.com/2021/11/22/us/native-americans-land-acknowledgments-cec/index.html
What is something individuals might never guess about you?
That I trained in tae kwon do for eight years while growing up and earned a first degree black belt as a teenager.
When I am not working, I like to practice yoga and pilates, take walks and snuggle with my pup, spend time with my husband, family, and friends, listen to podcasts and psychological thrillers, collect gems and crystals, play board games, see live music or comedy shows, and travel.
