How long will it take to get results/the evaluation report?
I strive to finalize reports within 30 to 45 days of the evaluation appointment to ensure the time and thoroughness you/your loved one deserves goes into completion of the report.
The above-mentioned timeframe allows me to score and interpret all assessment data, review and summarize collateral records, tidy up interview notes and mental status observations, formulate diagnostic impressions (if any), create recommendations, and write the comprehensive evaluation report. You will receive a copy of the evaluation report.
Will we schedule a time to discuss the testing results?
After the evaluation report is finalized, I can offer an evaluation feedback session to discuss testing results, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations. These appointments typically last an hour and a half, although they are sometimes shorter or longer depending upon the number of assessment questions.
For adults, a feedback session may include just us; however, if desired (and with consent) support persons and/or treatment team members can also attend the meeting in an effort to strengthen support and for collaboration of care.
For children ages 4 to 12, feedback sessions typically include caregivers and treatment team members. These meetings can be overwhelming for everyone, especially younger children to attend in full. As such, I am happy to also talk to your child for a shorter duration of time to discuss evaluation findings.
I recommend that teenagers attend the feedback session with their caregivers and/or team members to enhance their understanding of themselves; however, I honor their autonomy and self-determination to choose not to attend.
